Le prochain colloque de la George Sand Association prendra comme thèmes de réflexion les figures et les modes de mise en scène de l’écriture, du corps et de l’auteur(e) dans l’œuvre sandienne. Vos propositions de communication (en français ou en anglais), traitant divers aspects de la problématique retenue, pourront se regrouper autour des rubriques suivantes :

      • L’écrivain(e) au travail
      • Conception, affirmation ou dénégation de l’état d’auteur(e)
      • Mise en scène du regard ­ – Regard sur la mise en scène
      • Le théâtre dans le roman – Les romans adaptés au théâtre
      • Performance et oralité
      • Créativité et improvisation
      • Rituels, performance publique et changement social
      • Récits de voyage et mise en scène du sujet
      • Les « genres » de la performance ­– Le « genre » comme performance
      • Performances publiques et privées – Performances de la vie quotidienne
      • Subjectivité et intentionnalité – Créativité et contrainte
      • Etudes sandiennes et théorie des actes de parole (Austin)

Les propositions de communication, de 250 à 300 mots, accompagnées d’une courte bibliographie, seront reçues jusqu’au 15 février 2008, par courriel à : gss18@french-ital.ucsb.edu (à partir de l’hiver 2007) et à rea@oxy.edu

Writing, Performance and Theatricality in George Sand's Works

We invite proposals for papers (in French or English) on aspects of the conference theme, including, but not limited to:

    • The Writer at Work
    • Conceptions and Assertions of Authorship
    • Viewing and Staging Performances
    • Theater in the Novel, Novels into Theater
    • Oral Literature and Performance
    • Creative and Improvisatory Practices
    • Ritualization, Public Performance and Social Change
    • Travel Narratives and the Staging of the Self
    • Gender and Performance ­ – Gender as Performance
    • Public, Private and Everyday Performances
    • Agency and Intentionality ­ – Creativity and Constraint
    • Speech-Act Criticism and George Sand Studies
